A NEW GENERATION OF THE BACTERICIDAL AND ANTIVIRAL SMART PPE  FOR THE EFFECTIVE  PERSONAL PROTECTION AGAINST INFECTIONS.

 

THE EMBEDDED SENSOR SYSTEMS FOR THE IVD AND HUMAN HEALTH CONTROL.

 

Nature has proposed an impressive array of possibilities that afford protection of organisms from dangerous microbial colonization and other infections. We have to seek and follow these natural solutions, because we aren’t the best and strong part of the Earth ecosystem, unfortunately.

 

The pandemic has changed our life from the possibility a direct communication each other to the bad economic situation around the world. The world society was not ready to this challenge. Moreover, we cannot clear understand all of the arisen problems for a health of people have been infected by COVID-19.
We can just assume some possible problems which could be from other  similar threats at further.

It’s fine that there are a few vaccines which can help us to be more strongest to the COVID-19 infection and perhaps to its  mutations. But we have to clear understand ourselves  that the vaccine is not a medicine against these infections. It’s also clear we need a complex of the protective tools to fight against these and new infections.

So, the necessity to find some new anti-pathogen tools to protect people from the existed and new possible threats is the main challenge to the PPE designers and manufactures now.

Moreover, there is a big problem for nature because of the disposable and used mask, respirators and other PPE, which should be secure utilized after its use.

For example, before the pandemic the ordinary Japan citizen used about 40-45 PPE masks per year. During pandemic, a quantity of the needed PPE masks  will be increased dramatically. In highly populated and developing countries like India or  China the volume of use will be significantly high. 

Hospitals in Wuhan were producing about 240 tonnes of biomedical waste per day at the pandemic peak a year ago. The same situation is in India  and other Asian countries. Some evaluations demonstrated  a  possible 5-times increasing of the  level of biomedical  waste compared to pre -pandemic time there.  

Till now, there is no any acceptable  solution for a standard PPE face mask or respirator which could be effective  against infections on the market. There are a few of the world leading OEM players, like DuPont, 3M, Honeywell and other, which can design and manufacture  these PPE products and materials for the  mass market.

But even after a year from the point when the pandemic was announced by the WHO, we have had no any new effective solutions for the bactericidal and antiviral  PPE products from their side.

It’s not too clear to us. What are the reasons of that?

There are a lot of strange things around the pandemic situation : from the origin of COVID-19 infection  up to the vaccine wars on the market.

It’s clear that many  questions will be without answers  for a long time. 

Let’s try to understand it, because it’s very important information to everyone. The possible tools have to be effective against infection, ones are very vitally to people around the world.

Today most of the PPE specialists can describe the main needed functions and properties of the protective mask/respirator which should be realized to the effective bactericidal and antiviral PPE face mask as followed:

–  For the bactericidal and antiviral protection we have to  use the bio-compatible materials and technology.
– High levels of the comfortableness as for every day use as for a  long time (a working day is 8-10 hours) wearing of the PPE.
– Having used the high filtering materials we could be protected against a penetration of the very small sized infections, which could penetrate  with the inhaled air into the human organism.

– A low level of humidity under the mask.  It’s a very important thing  for the healthcare workers, when they cannot frequently clear the fogged protective glasses  or replace the mask or respirator under the protective suit themselves.
– Reusable and Eco-friendly materials with a possibility of its recycling after use without dangerous to environmental impact.
– The  affordable  cost of the PPE products to everyone and everywhere, without any restrictions from the manufactures or politics sides.

 

So,

at the first stage of our activity we have to get the next results for the announced objectives, which were offered for the challenge call  #engineersPROphysicians for the EUROPEAN BACTERICIDAL PPE FACE MASK through the LinkedIn network a year ago.

One was jointly launched with the QUALVIFE project team a in May, 2020.

We had offered to consider the next aims for the new PPE in that call :

  1. The bactericidal and anti-viral raw materials for PPE face mask/respirators and air filtering systems.
  2. The bactericide reusable mask for the personal protection against different air spread infections.
  3. Smart mask with the new embedded sensor systems for the personal protection with the IVD functionality to control the main parameters of human health.

As you can see on the picture below,

it’s  a  demonstration  of our technical and creative  possibilities to solve some of  the problems for the effective personal protection of human health against existed infections  and  possible new threats at further.

 

 Having used our unique innovative approach, creativity, novel and bio-compatible materials and Eco-friendly technologies we can offer the new design of the bactericidal and antiviral material and relatively low cost of its production technology. It allows us to satisfy the social demands for the highly effective bactericidal and antiviral PPE face masks/respirators as for healthcare workers at the first order as for other, but some later,  when  the needed R2R process will be designed for the mass production of the base materials.

 

  • Bactericidal material. (The compound and process treatment are our know- how).
  • Prototypes (MVP) of the materials are effective for the PPE  applications. Bactericidal materials could be combined to a quality air filtering system which can provide a high level of the personal protection against  pathogens for citizens  during epidemic, pandemic or other special hospital requirements to the protection of the patients with a weak immune response. Our approach is highly effective  against g+ ve/g –ve bacteria and most of the well-known viruses.
  • The main technological approaches   were patented  with the registered priorities in 2003-2008).

 

And one more thing is for your understanding,
these bactericidal and antiviral  PPE products with a high level of the personal protection against pathogens must be only produced in three countries. Only these countries have got all of the needed technological possibilities for that there.
And there are no any Asian countries in the list.
